Architectures of Projection: Texas Theaters as Cultural Infrastructure is a forthcoming fine art photography book from Bug Davidson documenting over 100 cinematic landmarks across the state—an expansive visual archive of architecture, memory, and cultural space. Spanning seven years of fieldwork, the photographs were made using digital, large format, and 35mm film processes, capturing the texture and atmosphere of each site with both precision and emotional resonance. The book features an essay by Craig Campbell, Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin, offering critical insight into the social and spatial significance of these enduring theaters. Merging documentary clarity with lyrical observation, this volume invites readers to engage with the aesthetics and histories of Texas’s cinematic landscape.
